CAM Lead Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the Programming Department.  Ensure that the proper Tooling is created for numerous aspects of the manufacturing of printed circuit board, mainly artwork, drilling, routing, and testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH PERFORMING THE JOB

  • Responsible for coordinating and supervising the department.
  • Responsible for assisting with department training and scheduling
  • Responsible for ensuring quality and on time delivery
  • Responsible for informing Front-End Manager of any problems associated with data, production, quality, or personnel issues
  • Responsible for the total management of electronic data provided by the customer and generated by ITL
  • Responsible for implementation of product engineering instructions as required by the customer to generate tooling which will be used by manufacturing to produce Printed Circuit Boards
  • Perform design rule check
  • Responsible for organizing job priorities, maintaining the panelized job data base, maintaining rev control, data comparisons, dealing with netlist issues and interfacing with the engineering department.
  • Responsible for the output of files for plotting of artwork, NC Drilling, and NC Routing
  • Responsible for the safe use and maintenance of confidential information to include proprietary software and all client information
  • Responsible for providing technical information to other departments
  • Responsible for ensuring all company and legislative rules are followed
  • Ensure photo plotter is functioning to specified requirements
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

SKILL/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PEFORM THE JOB 

  • Requires a Community College diploma as an Engineering Technologist or 3-5 years prior experience and 1-3 years of on-the-job training in a similar or related field
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical analyses
  • Responsible to keep abreast of CAM and CNC programming techniques
  • Upgrading of computer skills when necessary
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively and clearly with customers and fellow employees
  • Supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of Orbotech and Genisis 2000 software is mandatory.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB 

  • Work is mainly sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time each day (6 to 7 Hours per day) with many tedious and repetitive activities/movements, other physical activities include standing and walking, with occasional bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying
  • Continuous periods of intense concentration in excess of 4 hours while setting up programs for CNC machines
  • Must have excellent knowledge of hardware and software required for NC programming and CAM Editing
  • Subject to all types of deadlines, both regular and unpredictable, month end reports as required, and those resulting from special requests or during peak periods; must be able to respond in a timely fashion to customer requests/demands and to internally determine requirements involving numerous competing and often conflicting deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB 

  • Exposed to many variable elements ranging from working in an air conditioned office to the shop floor
  • Subject to many interruptions and conflicting demands/special request deadlines by manufacturing demands
  • Work involves a high degree of visual and mental attention involving constant attention to detail
